January

My partner Jonny told me off because I said in a previous post that I would update this every month… oops.

It’s been quite an admin heavy start to the year, but I’ve been enjoying working on the first few wedding rings for upcoming Spring and Summer weddings.

I also have some exciting news! In February I will be moving into a new studio. I’ve been in my shared studio at the Briggait in Glasgow for 10 years and have had the best time with the other lovely jewellers who have worked there over the years. I’m feeling very sad to leave, but also the time is right as I need a lot more space. I seem to have acquired a lot of stuff.

Since 2020 I’ve been mostly working from my bench at home and using the studio for larger pieces of equipment and to meet my customers for appointments. The new space means I can be a lot more flexible with appointment times, and also means Jonny gets some of the spare room (my current home studio) back! The best bit is that I’m staying at the Briggait and only moving downstairs. I’m really happy to still be part of the wonderful community of makers and artists at Wasps Artists’ Studios.

I get the keys on the 1st February, and then I am sure there will be a fair amount of chaos involved in getting the space ready, so my first appointments in the new space will be the week beginning Monday 12th February.

I’m looking forward to sharing updates soon!
