Consultation
If you are based near Glasgow you may wish to arrange an appointment at my studio so see my range of sample rings. For those further afield, we can arrange a phone or Skype call, or chat via email.
We will discuss time scale, budget, materials and design ideas so it’s helpful if you have a think about what you might like in advance. Not to worry if you are not sure, as I am happy to guide you through the process and suggest options.
Design
As you will have seen by now, my signature style is a textured finish on metal to mimic weathered stone surfaces and rugged landscapes.
I can also work from photographs of meaningful places to you to develop the unique surfaces for your rings.
Or we can keep things classic with polished or matt finishes on a simple plain band.
For custom textures you will see either a silver or wax sample before it is made in gold.
Making
Once we have finalised a design I will get to work on the final piece.
Depending on the design it can take from 6 to 12 weeks to create your bespoke rings. Made To Order rings, based on my studio samples or those listed on my website, are usually around 4-6 weeks, and tighter deadlines can often be accommodated.
Your rings will be hallmarked at Edinburgh Assay Office.
You will receive your rings in a black branded Rhona McCallum box.
